Smart Time, New Web-Based Time Capture and Entry Product, Featured on PC Magazine's @Work Online Publication
Los Gatos , CA– August 25, 2009 … Smart Time , an upcoming release of Smart WebParts (SWP) was covered on PC Magazine's @Work page today by IT expert Matt Sarrel, executive director of Sarrel Group and a Contributing Editor for PCMag. Web-based Smart Time is a new on-demand time capture and entry application which will be officially released worldwide on September 15, 2009.
According to PCMag.com's Sarrel, “ Anyone responsible for tracking their time for billing purposes knows that process can be quite time consuming in and of itself. This includes professionals such as lawyers, accountants, consultant, and architects.
Enter Smart Time, software for Microsoft IIS server with a browser-based interface that simplifies tracking of, and billing of time. After set up, the automated solution can pull data from Exchange, a VOIP PBX, Documentum, etc to recreate a user's day on a time sheet.
Smart Time provides timekeepers with a detailed report of their daily work activities, answering the question: "What did I do today and is it billable?" It captures time spent on activities such as e-mails, documents, calendar appointments, phone calls, mobile calls and legal research. Custom Connectors can also be built to any other data source. Smart Time results are available on-line, in easy-to-use reports, or can be e-mailed to a timekeeper daily. The user can export time directly from Smart Time to the accounting system.
The product has a zero footprint on the desktop because you access it via the Web browser and it can be installed in less than a day. Smart Time is offered as annual subscription based on the number of timekeepers at the firm. Pricing starts at $17,500/year for 25 customers and scales up at an additional $995 for every 25 users.
By simplifying the time-note construction process and finding missed or leaked time that may not otherwise get billed, Smart Time actually increases a firm's billable hours and increases profitability, rapidly yielding a total return-on-investment (ROI). Beta customers have reported that Smart Time can save up to one hour per timekeeper per week. If each timekeeper gets $400/hr the amounts can add up quickly.”
According to Todd Gerstein, co-founder and principal of SWP, “We are thrilled that PC Magazine's Matt Sarrel was impressed enough with Smart Time to publish this post in PC Magazine's @Work publication. Smart Time fulfills a much-needed place in the professional services market and we believe that many more will realize how important its benefits are in boosting a firm's profitability.”
